DELETED CHARACTERS
So you've read the deleted scenes from
the original Roost Fighter story. But you probably don't know of the
deleted characters. Most of them were deleted from the Alpha trilogy
and did once appear on the Alpha Characters list. However, there's a
few that you never even saw or heard of before - I'll bet
Cyber-Spydrmanjr doesn't sound familiar to you. Well anyway, here are
some character that were excised for various reasons (pictures coming
soon).
Characters will appear in chronological order according to story, to
prevent confusion.
Omega Sauron
Originally Would
Appear In: Roost Fighter II: Advent
of Blight
Story: This
one should be relatively well-known by now, as this erroneous
information has appeared in Brandon Waggle's character bio. If you
don't know, the original set-up for RF2 had Bruce consuming half of the
Omega Force for himself, which gave him the power to crush the
Orochi-Blooded in the final story. However, the original scenario had
Bruce giving half of the Omega Force to Brandon Waggle - he, too, would
become an Omega. Brandon was going to assist Bruce in his final battle
against the Orochi, conquering them and defeating Shin Blight (this was
before Oni Blight was created). Apparently I got greedy or something
when writing the story, so Omega Sauron was dropped. It's a bit of a
shame, but OS would probably have become just another character in an
already-bulging cast of characters.
MekaJeff
Originally Would
Appear In: Roost Fighter Alpha
Story: This
one is an oddity. No, this is not another relic from RFA2, but
rather a
minor subplot which would appear in the first Alpha story. Jeff Cooke,
as you may know, was killed quickly by Clint in RF1. However, his time
wasn't supposed to come up so swiftly. In Alpha 1, Andross and Goji Son
(his disciples) were going to discover the remains of their fallen
master. Seeing what had befallen him, they were going to set about
creating a mechanical replica - right down to clothing, voice, and
memory. The mechanized Jeff would be coated with a rubber skin which
resembled normal human flesh. Anyway, MekaJeff would crush another
unrealized character named Saruman - an eccentric old bat who wants to
claim leadership of the Clan of Saruman for himself. MekaJeff was
dropped later on, however, when I came to realize that there would
never be room in the story for him. It's probably for the best.
Bruce's Daughter (no name
given)
Originally
Would Appear In: Roost Fighter Alpha
2: The Book of Heavy Metal
Story: Most people would think Magnus
Parker was enough. But no, Bruce was also going to have a daughter. No
name was officially given to this character, although it could possibly
have been Julia. She originally appeared in promo pictures for an old
project called Roost Fighter Legacy,
but
she somehow managed to work her way into "The Cybertron Experiment".
Originally, she was going to be captured by Cybertron HQ and subjected
to the A-Project. Then near the story's end, she would face off against
Magnus Parker, her brother, with help from her father Cyber-Bruce (see
above). This got pretty insane, and so this concept was ultimately
dropped.
Cyber-Blight
Originally Would Appear
In: Roost Fighter Alpha 2: The Book
of Heavy Metal
Story: Yes, I even considered turning the villain of Roost Fighter II
into a cyborg for Cybertron HQ! He appears in the old RFA2 promo
pictures back when it was still known as "The Cybertron Experiment". I
have no clue how this would have worked out. His original role in the
story is unknown to this day.
Cyber-Bruce
Originally Would
Appear In: Roost Fighter Alpha 2:
The Book of Heavy Metal
Story: Cyber-Bruce also appears in the old
RFA2 promo pictures, back when it was still known as "The Cybertron
Experiment". Originally, Bruce was going to be taken to Cybertron HQ by
Godzillatron and Mecha-Rodan, and given cybernetic organs and such.
However, he would then become a.slave to the two robots. Much of this
concept was used for Demon Eyes Parker, but Cyber-Bruce's story was
going to be much different. Cyber-Bruce was going to confront his wife
Grace somewhere along the line, and she would cut his arm off. However,
an injection of Orga_99's DNA (who knows where it came from) would have
instantly allowed it to grow back. Also, although Cyber-Bruce would
have still fought his son Magnus, Magnus was going to be portrayed as
the real villain. As if that isn't crazy enough, Bruce was going to
fight Magnus alongside his daughter, also subjected to the A-Project.
Cyber-Spydrmanjr
Originally Would Appear In: Roost
Fighter Alpha 2: The Book of Heavy Metal
Story: Cyber-Spydrmanjr appears in some of the old Roost Fighter Alpha 2 promotional
pictures, back when it was still known as "The Cybertron Experiment".
Cyber-Spy's original role in the story is still unknown to this day,
although it would not be surprising to see him as one of Cybertron HQ's
guards. The concept of having older characters turned into cyborgs went
a little distance before dying off.
Mecha-Gryphon
Originally Would Appear In: Roost
Fighter Alpha 2: The Book of Heavy Metal
Story: Okay, I think I got way too carried away with the cyborg
concept in the preliminary stages. But to be fair, the Gryphon was
probably the first character considered to be turned into a cyborg. He
appears in some of the old RFA2 promos back when it was still known as
"The Cybertron Experiment". His original role in the story is unknown,
although he would probably have acted as an assassin, as he does in RF1
and RFA1.
